Digital First Media Philly is sponsoring a team to participate in this year’s Walk and 5k Run Through The Park set for Saturday, May 21 at Norristown Area Farm Park.

Each year, cancer affects thousands of families in our region as they deal with  diagnosis, caregiving,  survivorship or loss. The Digital First Media family of newspapers is no different.

At every one of our sites throughout the counties of Montgomery, Delaware, Chester and Berks, our “family” has been touched by this disease that claims the lives of more than a half-million Americans each year.

We have supported co-workers enduring diagnosis and treatment. We have celebrated survivors.  And, too often,  we have cried through losses.

Like all families who have walked this road, we have questioned “why?” and asked “what can we do?”  This event answers one of those questions: We can honor our brave  co-workers who fight and survive; we can remember our dear friends whose lives ended too soon.
